I'm up past midnight as if I don't have to go to work in the morning. I probably don't because as I look out my window, I see a fresh sheet of ice on top of the snow and on the street. I neglected to take my laptop home-as if I would've worked from home anyway. But I am really debating if I should go to sleep and wake up at 6am to make it to work by 8am? Will anyone be at work? Will I be the only one there?
By 3pm today, my job was empty. Everyone had rushed out at about 1pm toting laptop cases. Me? I was stuck in a meeting until 3pm and had 10 voice mails when I returned, of which 3 were "you need to head home" messages. It only took me 30 mintues to get home. It normally takes 20. I know how to handle this weather. I've been through tornadoes, ice storms, and snow storms.
But that doesn't mean I'm going to work in the morning...
I am still so amazed at how people are freaking out over a snow flurry. "Oh, I need to leave work early!" or "Oh, I need to go to the store to buy milk!"
IT'S ONLY SNOW...AND FLURRIES AT THAT!
Now when it starts to rain...then sleet, I'm outta here. I got a 4x4 SUV, a weeks worth of groceries, a gas fireplace, and electric lanterns.
